Accessibility statement
M8Shift is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we treat it as part of building the project in the open.
Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more usable for everyone.
What we do
- Semantic, standards-based HTML, so content works with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
- Keyboard navigation across interactive elements, without requiring a mouse.
- Readable colour contrast in both the light and dark themes.
- Responsive layout that adapts to zoom, small screens, and larger text sizes.
- Reduced-motion support — animations are kept subtle and respect your operating system's "reduce motion" preference.
- An on-page accessibility toolbar (bottom-right of every page) for quick adjustments: text size, spacing, contrast, a dyslexia-friendly font, motion control, and link highlighting. Open it with the keyboard shortcut Alt + A.
TIP
The accessibility toolbar is a convenience aid. It supplements — but does not replace — your browser and operating-system accessibility settings, which usually offer the most reliable experience.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Diagrams (architecture and flow diagrams) are rendered as SVG; where a text alternative is missing, the surrounding prose describes the same information.
- Third-party embeds are not always under our direct control.
We treat these as bugs and improve them over time.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, please tell us — your feedback helps us fix it:
- Open an issue on our GitHub repository.
- Or reach us on our Discord server.
Please include the page address and a short description of the problem, and we will do our best to respond promptly.
A note on standards
This statement reflects our aim to align with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. It is not a legal guarantee of conformance with any specific regulation (such as the ADA, EAA, or EN 301 549); a full audit and remediation may still be required for formal compliance.
